In this clip John shares insights from his book Habits Die Hard. He also provides a corporate example of how to break habits and change culture. While we as individuals are “creatures of habit,” with over 95% of our daily lives being run on “autopilot” by the subconscious mind, corporate cultures are similar. Thus, to change culture, we have to change the “programs” we are running on. In other words, to change “the way we do things around here” (culture), we have to change the way we do things around here (including our systems, structure, strategy and “programming.”
